The zoo is such a special place when it was just us there! Here we are walking around the zoo at night in the dark with the pouring rain!! What fun? Well actually it was...amazing!! We saw the kiwi enclosure at night (so actually it was their day and they were asleep). We looked inside the big freezers and checked out all the yummy food (ok some of it was very stinky) for all 750 odd animals!!
The giraffe wasn't too sure about us in her room at night. But she seemed to smile and eat away.
We checked out the tarantula too....creepy...but locked away and safe.
Sometimes it felt like we were wondering around aimlessly but it just felt so exciting to be in the zoo at night.
Then it was back to have a hot drink, biscuits and set up our beds....zzzzzz Yes all 35 of us dotted around the room 'marae style'. Excellent...most went to sleep...some did not.
so who snores the most?...the teachers? the students? the parent helpers?? or the neighbours aka the animals???
